About IASAS
IASAS, the Interscholastic Association of Southeast Asia Schools is an Athletics and Activities High School conference, which consists of 6 schools: International School Bangkok, International School Kuala Lumpur, International School Manila, Jakarta Intercultural School, Singapore American School and Taipei American School. Schools take turns annually hosting the following events:
1st Season: Cross-Country, Soccer, Volleyball
Model United Nations and Cultural Convention Art/Film
2nd Season: Basketball, Rugby/Touch, Swimming, Tennis
Maths Contest, Chess, Service [virtual, non-travel activities]
Cultural Convention: Drama-Dance-Technology, Forensics-Debate, and Music
3rd Season: Badminton, Baseball/Softball, Track & Field, Golf
For everyone involved, students, coaches, advisors, administrators, parents, and community members alike, IASAS is one of the most memorable times of any school year. Now in its 41st year of existence and widely recognized as one of the premier international school activities and athletics conferences in the world, IASAS continues to explore ways to further engage more students through informal events such as Robotics and Service Learning meet-ups.
About IASAS Dance/ Drama/ Tech
IASAS Dance/ Drama/ Tech is one of the five Cultural Convention events held throughout the IASAS school year. The IASAS Cultural Convention is an opportunity for students and teachers to share ideas and celebrate the creative and cultural diversity of our unique students and schools. It is a time of mutual support and also a time to further develop performance and technical skills. Each travelling IASAS school selects 8 Dance, 8 Drama and 4 Tech delegates to travel to and work with the 12 Dance, 12 Drama and 8 Tech host school delegates on the following:
Drama groups each bring a 45-minute original performance to Share
Dance Groups bring a 20-minute Performance (scripted or devised) to share
Tech students run the tech for their Dance and Drama Groups
All groups participate in dedicated workshops run by various visiting workshop leaders
All schools join together for celebration reflections after each performance
Each performance group gets a 30-minute one-on-one discussion with the viting workshop leaders to discuss their work.
