Who is Mrs. Lauber?
Welcome to our library! I am so excited to be your Library Media Specialist! I will be learning a lot about you as the school year moves on, so I thought I would let you know a little bit about myself.
My name is Mrs. Lauber and I have been teaching as a Library Media Specialist, since 2007. This is my 16th year at Island Trees (Prior to I.T. , I worked as an Elementary/Middle School LMS out in Suffolk County). This is my 11th year as the Library Media Specialist for the Island Trees Memorial Middle School. My career at Island Trees began in 2008 at the M.F. Stokes Elementary School.
I received my Master's Degree in Library Science from C.W. Post- L.I.U. Additionally, I have my Bachelor's Degree from St. Joseph's College and I am certified in both general and special education (grades B-6). I recently finished my Master's plus 60 credits.
When I am not at school teaching, I enjoy doing many things. Some of my favorite things to do are: going out east, spending time with my three sisters, exercising, relaxing with my friends, husband, and my sons. I also enjoy reading and traveling.
What do you like to do?
I am looking forward to a fabulous year! We will be spending a lot of time learning about the research process, researching various topics, learning about Digital Safety, integrating various Web 2.0 tools, evaluating resources, book talks, and so much more!
Get ready for a fun-filled year of learning!
