Today's Clubs and Meetings  

There are no Chorus lessons today.

Island Trees continues to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Today we honor Teatro Yerbabruja, a gallery in Bay Shore, that holds plays, art exhibitions, musicals, and community events that reflect immigration, identity and culture. Their work shows how art can celebrate heritage and bring people together.

The Island Trees Debate Team will meet for the first time after school today, in Room 229. Come see what has become one of the most exciting clubs at Island Trees High School.  We welcome all newcomers from all classes, especially Freshmen. There are many roles to play, and we would love to have you there. Watch for flyers with the Google Classroom signup code. If you have any questions or cannot make the meeting, please see Mr. Medeiros in Room 229.


Anyone interested in getting a library card to the public library can stop by the library today.  A librarian will be here 4th period -8 period to get students and staff set up with an Island Trees Public Library Card.

Attention all SENIORS! Please visit your Class of 2026 Google Classroom and find the link to join the Yearbook Google Classroom! This is where you will send in your senior quotes and photos from the year! Please see or email yearbook advisors Ms Weber or Ms Simonelli with any questions. 

The AHA Club is officially kicking off again! Whether you’re a returning member or someone interested in joining for the first time. Come grab an application and learn what is required to join this elite club — and be part of something meaningful. Our first meeting is  Monday, September 29th, in the Little Theater

All World Language Honor Society members should vote for this year's officers by Tuesday, 9/30 on the google form on Classroom. Please only vote for your language's honor society. If you did not attend yesterday's meeting, you should see Mrs. Klein or Ms. Martinez today to remain an active member. 

"Interested in joining the National ART Honor Society? Please join us on Wednesday, October 1st after school in the art room for an informational meeting on how to register. All are welcome. If you have any questions, please see Ms Weber."


"The French club will have our first meeting after school on Wednesday 10/1 in room 208! Anyone interested in running as an officer for this year should attend. New members are welcome!" 


The Spanish Club will be creating a garden of Spanish speaking country flags. Please stop by the library or Rm 210 to pick up your flag flower to represent your country or the country of a friend. We will be finalizing our Blooming heritage Wall in the lobby staircase next Friday.


Sports Announcements and Highlights


There will be a brief but important meeting for all wrestlers' after school on Tuesday, September 30th in room 150.  


The Girls JV Volleyball team defeated Elmont last night in a close game, taking the win 2 sets to 1. The Bulldogs were able to apply the pressure on the Spartans offensively with 14 aces contributed by Amber Abilhomme, Brooke Cavataio, Julianna Gabriel, Lea Strothers, Amanda Tejada, and Ella Trivitt. The Bulldogs also totaled for 10 kills contributed by Amber Abilhomme, Maya Cifarelli, Julianna Gabriel, Kaitlyn Garcia, and Amanda Tejada. Sophomore Ella Trvitt led the defense with 4 digs, 1 assist, and 3 aces. Sophomore Amanda Tejada had an outstanding performance on both offense and defense ending the game with 4 digs, 3 kills, 1 assist, and 2 aces. Amazing effort by the Bulldogs!


Congratulations to the JV girls soccer team on their 4-3 win yesterday vs. Cold Spring Harbor. Two great finishes by Michaela Murphy in the first half and a goal by Lauren Gulloti to tie it up. Emma DeRienzo had an awesome penalty kick deflection and save. Elena Jewett finished out the win with her goal in the final 3 minutes. Great work girls! 



School Procedures 

Students with Chromebook issues can visit the technology office located in the back of the library.  Please remember that cell phone use is prohibited during the school day.   To report any type of absence, lateness or to request an early dismissal, call the Attendance Office directly at 516-520-2142.
