Ms. Lisa's Class
Class overview
The Montessori philosophy believes a well prepared environment fosters independence, curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. It is my goal to offer a space that every child feels accepted, valued, and cared for. This involves many lessons on grace and courtesy, inclusion and community building activities. After the children have developed a strong community, they go on to amazing learning opportunities within their environment. I am excited to be learning with you all this year, we will do and learn amazing things!

About me, Ms. Lisa!
Hello, my name is Lisa Edwards. I have been at Island Montessori since 2018. After my first visit to IMS I knew I needed to be a part of this incredible team of educators and I have never looked back.
I have a BA in Sociology and a Master of Arts in Teaching. I hold a North Carolina teaching license and I am certified to teach Montessori 6-9.
My husband Scott and I have two children, Katie and Nathan. We have a cat named Molly, as well as a small flock of cute chickens! They bring us so much joy and I LOVE to talk about them all!
I look forward to my continued work of instilling a love of learning and growing with our students here at IMS!
