I am a Wisconsin native and I first discovered my love of learning and speaking Spanish in high school. After receiving my degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, I decided to work at an American School in Barranquilla, Colombia. After two years there, I was hired as the first teacher in the immersion program in Northfield, MN. Since that first job, I’ve taught at Adams Spanish Immersion School in St. Paul and Park Spanish Immersion (PSI) in St. Louis Park. I received my Master’s Degree in Library Media Education and became PSI’s first Media Specialist. Working with students at many grade levels and staff from a variety of Spanish speaking countries is something that helps me to grow professionally and personally. I have taught Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2 as a classroom teacher and Grades Pre-K through 6 as a Media Specialist, General Music teacher and as a Spanish Specialist. Enjoying all the cultural experiences the Spanish-speaking world has to offer is the way I like to spend my free time. I also love spending the Minnesota summers out in nature and traveling with my children.
