Welcome Back!

A note from Ms. Anderson - August 2023

Hello Parents, Guardians, & Family Members!

I am looking forward to another excellent year with our readers. Please review the policies outlined in the 2023-2024 Student/Family Handbook pages 36-37.ย

Additionally, it is important to note these specific policies, responsibilities, and procedures in the library:

ย 1.) Students in grades 3-5 have designated open library times to choose and check-out books. Students in grades 3-5 may check out three books at a time.ย

ย 2.) Students in grades 6-8 will have a variety of opportunities including Krewe to use the library for research, and pleasure reading. Students in grades 6-8 may check out three books at a time.ย

ย 3.) Books are loaned out for 14 days and may be renewed in the library. A book is considered overdue 16 or more days from the check-out date. Overdue book reminders will be sent home and emailed to students.

ย 4.) A book is considered lost if it is 90 days overdue.ย

ย 5.) Damaged or lost books must be replaced either by purchasing a new identical copy at the bookstore of your choice or by paying ISL for the replacement plus a $10.00 processing fee.ย

ย 6.) Students in grades 3-8 have access to e-content (e-books, etc) via Destiny Discover on Clever and will be able to check-out e-books, audiobooks, and other e-content for a 14 days.

If youย  would like to volunteer in the library or with our target language book fair in December please contact me or Martha Pena, Family Liaison (mpena@isl-edu.org).

Please reach out if you have any questions. I am looking forward to seeing all of our readers this year!

Happy Reading!

~Ms. Anderson
