The teams ranked #5 and #6 after the first two days of golf will compete in a consolation match.
During match play the #1 ranked golfers from each team will compete versus each other, the #2 ranked golfers will compete versus each other, and so on all the way to the 6th ranked golfers from each team competing versus each other.
All 6 of the matches count toward the teams final score.
Match play is a form of golf where a golfer plays directly against an opponent in a head-to-head match:
Players compete versus each other to win each hole during their round of golf.
You win a hole by completing the hole in a fewer number of strokes than your opponent.
You win a match when you are winning by more holes than remain to be played
(ie: you are winning by 4, but there are only 3 holes left to play - the match is over and you are declared the winner).
Golfers earn 1 point for match play win over their opponent; one-half point for a tie with their opponent; and no points are earned for a loss versus their opponent.
The team with the most points earned from the 6 match play competition wins.
