Dear ISSEA Rugby Teams and Coaches,

On behalf of the International School of Kenya, I am pleased to welcome you to the 2025 ISSEA Rugby 7's Tournament. As we prepare to host teams from across Southern and Eastern Africa, we are excited for the memorable experiences that await us both on and off the field.

Rugby 7's embodies the very spirit of what makes international school sports so special – quick thinking, teamwork, respect, and the ability to forge lasting connections in a fast-paced environment. Over the coming days, you'll showcase your athletic prowess and build friendships that transcend borders and cultures, creating a tapestry of shared experiences that define the ISSEA community.

To our visiting teams: we have prepared diligently to make your time here at ISK comfortable and memorable. Our facilities, staff, and student volunteers are ready to ensure you have everything needed to perform at your best. The grounds are prepared, the schedule is set, and our community eagerly awaits your arrival.

To all participants: while victory on the field is sweet, remember that the true triumph of these tournaments lies in the bonds you'll forge, the cultural exchanges you'll experience, and the growth you'll achieve as both athletes and global citizens. Embrace every moment!

Welcome to ISSEA Rugby 2024 at ISK!

We are thrilled to welcome you to the International School of Kenya for this year’s ISSEA Rugby Tournament. It is an honor to host teams from across the region as we come together to celebrate the spirit of competition, camaraderie, and sportsmanship.

At ISK, we strive to be Changemakers, Collaborators, and Communicators, and ISSEA tournaments provide the perfect opportunity to embody these values—by embracing challenges on the field, working together as a team, and building lasting connections with fellow athletes from across southern and eastern Africa. As you compete, we encourage you to demonstrate integrity, respect, and teamwork in every match.

We wish you an inspiring and memorable tournament—may you achieve your personal and team goals, foster new friendships, and make the most of this incredible experience. Play hard, support each other, and most of all, have fun!

Message from the School Director

ISSEA Rugby Welcome

A very warm welcome to our ISSEA athletes, coaches, and supporters. ISK is thrilled to welcome you to our beautiful campus, and we are grateful for the energy, friendship, and positive spirit you bring with you! ISSEA events are like family reunions and we are happy to serve as the pace in which we reconnect. 

Experiences such as these stay with us for years to come. Your connections with fellow athletes from all ISSEA schools will have deep and lasting effects. I guarantee you that after high school, you will run into one another after high school, reconnect and reminisce. I am confident that the memories made over the next few days will be ones of support, healthy competition and rivalry, friendship, and celebration. 

I am grateful for all of the hard work that has gone into organizing and running this event. An enormous thank you to Timmy Jacobsson, Felix Onchera, and Trizah Kiarii for all of their blood, sweat, and cheers over the past several months. Thank you, too, to Theo Fernandes, Michael Muli, and their crews for all of their logistical support. And finally, thank you to the teams and their supporters for the incredible spirit and the breath of fresh air you brought!
