Timeline

1.1.2028 ISH Annex Opens. Grade 11-12 students return to the main campus. The annex in full use by grades 2-12.

September 2027 Construction Completed. Annex building completed and prepared for learning (furniture, technology)

1.8.2026 Temporary Senior Campus Opens. Grades 11–12 begin the school year on the temporary campus, with lunch and specialist classes (science, art) on main campus. 

1.6.2026 Summer Break begins and heavy piling work commences. From this date until the end of July, there will be limited access to certain areas inside the main building.

From 21.5.2026 Digging work begins behind the school. Entrance only from Selkämerenkatu and Messitytönkatu, back of the school and parking lot not in use

18.5. - 20.5.2026 Construction Site set-up and fencing takes place. 

 11.5. - 15.5.2026 the corner of Messitytönkatu is opened to connect the annex to municipal infrastructure. Messitytönkatu street remains open for both cars and pedestrians, with one lane closed at a time. Heavy work is done before 9 am to avoid disruptions to school work, particularly during IB exams.  

Note: Work at the corner of Messitytönkatu was postponed from 4 May to 11 May due to a minor administrative delay in final permit approvals.  Work is expected to commence on the 11th or as soon as our contractor, UMR, receives the final go-ahead. 

11.3.2026 Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM). Parents’ Association members voted yes on proceeding with the project 

24.2.2026 Annex Town Hall. Parents’ Association Members (guardians) were invited to hear about the project
