Homewood-Flossmoor HS

Rob Assise is the jumps coach at Homewood-Flossmoor High School in the greater Chicago area. Rob has been an accomplished writer in the last year, and has been a highly successful coach in track and field . His progressive workouts have netted him great success, as Homewood-Flossmoor has been a force on the state track and field level in Illinois.

Parkway Central HS

Ryan Banta has been coaching for 19 years and is the author of The Sprinter’s Compendium. Since he started coaching in 2002, Ryan has produced 135 All-State medalists, including 10 state champions and 15 runners-up. His teams have won 12 district plaques and 5 top five state finishes in the last nine seasons.

Ladue HS

Nick Buckvar is the Head Boys & Girls Track Coach, English Teacher, Asst. Football Coach at Ladue HS. He is a regarded Track & Field Clinician and Editor: The Sprinter’s Compendium. Coach Buckvar has coached a ton of state champions, all state relays, and been a part of double digit state team trophies.

Lee's Summit West HS

Jesse Griffin of Lee’s Summit West High School was voted the 2017 National High School Girls Track and Field Coach of the Year by the U.S. Track Field and Cross Country Coaches’ Association. Griffin, the head girls track and cross country coach at West, was recognized after leading the Titans to a second consecutive Class 5 state team championship last spring and the fourth in the school’s history. The Titans set an all-time state record with 109 points, the most by a girls or boys team in any class.


Battle HS

Brian has been coaching at Battle High School since 2014 and has been the head coach since 2017. In 2019 his girls were 4th place at the MSHSAA C5 State meet. He has coached 41 all state athletes as head coach at Battle. Including 5 all-state pole vault performances. Brian also spent two seasons after graduation at the University of Missouri coaching the vault. He holds a personal best in the event of 17-08.


Scott Knox

Moberly HS

Scott Knox is entering his 15th season coaching jumps. He has spent time at Moberly High School, Salisbury High School and the University of Missouri. In his 14 years of coaching high school jumpers, Knox’s athletes have amassed 91 All Conference, 84 All District, 62 All State, 46 State Medalist, 11 State Runner-ups, 5 State Champions, and 1 All time State Record (Girls triple jump). Coach Knox has spent 2 years as a head coach. During his 1st year, he led Moberly to their first conference title in 32 years and their first district title in 34 years.

William Chrisman HS

Kyle Morse is currently the pole vault coach at William Chrisman High School in Independence, MO. In high school, Kyle learned the pole vault from his uncle and mentor, Jeff Hartwig (former American record holder). After winning a state championship himself, Kyle went on to jump collegiately at Mizzou for a short time. Since "retiring" from the pole vault, Kyle has made many coaching stops around the state, including Rock Bridge HS, Francis Howell North HS, and Hermann HS. Many of Kyle's vaulters throughout the years have been state qualifiers, school record holders, and future collegiate vaulters.


Lafayette HS

Author of Distance Training Simplified. O'Connor took the cross-country program at Lafayette High from mediocre to meteoric and the school’s first state title in just four seasons. In his short tenure at Lafayette, he has coached two individual state champions in cross-country along with eight individual and three relay state champions in track, winning the respect of his peers and opponents alike.

William Chrisman HS

Tyler Rathke is entering his 6th season as head track and field coach at William Chrisman HS in Independence, MO. He is in charge of strength and conditioning and biomechanics courses at William Chrisman. Rathke has coached 9 all-state throwers and 3 individual state champions in the throwing events in the last 4 seasons as well as returning the number 1 ranked girl in the state in the shot put and the discus.

Basehor Linwood HS

Scott Russell is the head track and field coach at Basehor Linwood HS. Russell holds the Canadian record for javelin throw, with a throw of 84.81 meters on July 13, 2011 at the Toronto International Track and Field Games. He teachers physical education and coaches basketball. His knowledge of the the throwing events is unmatched.
