Week 5 Schedule 2023

Wow! Last week was a busy and fun week. Start of the school year and another meet week. Some awesome things happened at Faribault. Will update stats and results - great work to all!

Looking ahead to this week:

Activity bus from PWMS seems to be working - MS athletes remember to pack all your running gear for tomorrow. Shoes, water bottle, running clothes.
Pasta party hosted by Evans' family (Morgan and Brynn) on Wednesday after practice.

Friday morning practice this week...6:30 am!! Coaches will provide breakfast!
Please remember to monitor your water intake, fuel properly, and get enough rest! The start of the school year is always an adjustment - be proactive!

Week 4 Schedule 2023

First week of classes!

That means that practice drop off might look a little different this week - with more cars and people at the high school. Please use the senior high lot to drop off.

High School begins on Tuesday, September 5
Middle School begins on Thursday, September 7 - There will be an activity bus to transport student athletes to East HS or you can ride your route bus if you know it will stop at East. 7th/8th graders will help navigate this.

Clothing order link has been posted. It will close Monday, September 11. Optional items to purchase but always great to have gear to support our team!

Meet day is Friday, September 8 - Leave time is 1:30. Specifics are listed on our weekly plan and we will help navigate dismissal times for each school.

Please help support yourself/athlete ensure that you are getting enough rest/sleep, water and fuel for this week. The first few days of school are often an adjustment to our routine coming off of Summer break.

Week 3 Schedule 2023

A few things to note this week...

Practice times shift to afternoon as we have teacher duties and meetings during the day. Monday - Wednesday - we should be done on these days around 5:15 pm
Pictures will take place on Monday, August 28 at 3:15 pm
Cougar Cards and monies due Tuesday, August 29
We have a meet this week Thursday, August 31....it is a 5K which means that not everyone will be competing. If you are not on the lineup - you will not be going along. Lineup will be posted Monday during the day. We will have fun workout Thursday evening for everyone 6-12.
Morning practice Friday and Saturday - refer to schedule.

Week 2

This week looks to be a warm one - please help yourself out by staying hydrated and monitoring your time outside!

It helps that our practice times are still in the morning - meaning cooler temps during our workouts.

Update on practice times - we will be done with our workouts this week by 9:15 am please plan on picking up your student-athlete around that time.

Next week we will need to switch to afternoon practice times as Coach Visto and I - get to do teacher duties during the day.

Please know that we are closely watching the forecast for Tuesday. We may shorten our trip to Flandrau and come back to Mankato after lunch. We will make an official decision tomorrow.

It is MEET WEEK - as we have our first opportunity to compete on Saturday, AUGUST 26. Meet information has been posted. This meet is a two mile race and you will get to run against your grade level. Bus departure time is 7:15 am. If you student-athlete will not be riding the bus back to Mankato please complete the travel release form.

We will hand out uniforms on Thursday.

Cougar Cards will be due back on August 29...a few of you have already sold 20!! Way to go!

Some highlights:

First day of practice: Monday 8/14 @ 7:30 a.m. Meet by door 6 on the East end of the building
PAC Meeting - Monday 8/14 @ 6 p.m. East Auditorium
Concussion Testing - Friday 8/18 @ 9 a.m. in room 104 for 6th/7th/9th/11th graders and new athletes!
