Welcome to the Mankato East Wrestling Webpage. Wrestling is a great winter sport that improves strength, balance, and power, while also teaching determination, confidence, and mental toughness. The skills learned in wrestling can easily be translated to other sports as well as lifelong situations. As Dan Gable famously stated, "once you've wrestled, everything else in life is easy".
2025-26 was an amazing season that was by most accounts, the best season in East History. The varsity team had a 19-10 record in duals, 356-237 record in individual matches and set school records for individual wins, takedowns, and team points. The team made it to the Section Semifinals for the just the 3rd time and back to back seasons. We had 6 Indvidual Section placers with 4 State entrants including Jackson Stensrud, Bennett Blom, Max Morgan, and Tyler Thilges. Max was able to follow his 3rd place finish from last year with a 2nd place finish this year. Our lone female wrestler, Lily Scholtes, broke all our school records and finished 4th in the section. The JV really excelled smashing every school record by the power of 37 wrestlers who wrestled at least one JV match and 14 who made it to double digit wins. Check out the highlight video below!
With the departure of a phenomenal senior class, we're excited to see some new faces get their chance to show what they can do at the Varsity Level in 2026-27!
