Welcome to the Eagle Lake Media Center
I am proud to welcome you to the Eagle Lake Media Center. The Media Center provides an atmosphere for students to learn to find, understand, and communicate information. Students visit the media center once each week for a 50 minute class period. During this time, students spend time both in the Media Center learning about authors, illustrators and books, and also in the computer lab working on other information literacy skills. Students may also visit the media center at any time during the week to exchange books or other materials.

The Media Center at Eagle Lake Elementary School was built in 1993. It includes a computer lab, casual reading area, instructional area, and a lovely windowed story corner. Public entrances, drinking fountains and restrooms help allow public access when school is not in session. The media center is open to the public during scheduled times in the summer.

The media curriculum in the Mankato Area Schools emphasizes reading/literature enrichment, technology skills, and research skills. Students receive media/technology instruction from the Media Specialist. The media activities are tied to the classroom curriculum.
