One of the success stories we chose is about Jarly, who was one of our adult career pathways students. Jarly, an English language learner, came to us as an On-Ramp student and moved through our classes, all the way up to earning his Welding certification at SCC. This feature in KEYC News 12 was taken at the beginning of Jarly’s journey when he was in the On-Ramp class and excited about going to SCC for Welding. He is now employed full time as a welder. While he was in the welding program at SCC, he suffered the sudden loss of his brother and with significant support from our ACP navigator, Sara Carrigan, and the ABE instructors Shelley Leenhouts and Ron Fleischmann, he persisted through the coursework at SCC and earned his certificate.
