About the show:

This play tells the story of two visionaries and their battle to invent a device called “television.”


It was written by Aaron Sorkin the creator and writer of The West Wing, The Newsroom, The Social Network, A Few Good Men, and the recent Broadway adaptation of  To Kill A Mockingbird.  


The Farnsworth Invention opened at the Music Box Theatre on December 3, 2007, with Hank Azaria in the Sarnoff role and Jimmy Simpson as Farnsworth.  The show closed on March 2, 2008. Simpson was honored with a Theatre World Award for his performance.
