Language Arts

Class Overview:

Language Arts provides students development in reading, writing, speaking, listening and viewing. Students study the characteristics of various genres through reading and writing. Key texts include short stories, novels, non-fiction pieces and poetry. Writing assignments focus on writing well-developed, single paragraphs with an emphasis on structure and supporting details. Latin and Greek roots and finding meanings in context support vocabulary development.  Units include Short stories, persuasion, and mythology.
