The Duluth East Boys Tennis Team carries a rich tradition into the new season. Successful and highly-competitive players have represented East in competition for many years. Duluth East Boys Tennis boasts an unusually high number of players going on to college, with recent graduates enrolling all over the United States. We pride ourselves in academic performance and wholly support, and encourage each player in their involvement in other sports and recreational activities as well. With the wonderful Longview Tennis Club as our home, we are proud to be a part of the Duluth tennis community. Join us anytime - we welcome visitors and fans at any of our events, home or away. We encourage all to take advantage of the summer opportunities provided by the Longview Tennis Club's parent organization, the Duluth Friends of Tennis, and Arrowhead Tennis and Athletic Center (ATAC) as well.
The Duluth East Boys Tennis Team has been in Section 7AA since 2002. The Greyhounds won their first 7AA Team Title in 2002 in ten seasons (1991-1993). Duluth East went on to three-peat from 2002-2004, and repeated this extraordinary achievement from 2007-2009, as well as 2016 and 2017 for the fourth time in team history. In 2004, seniors Jared Wiklund and Kris Paulseth ended their stellar careers with a State Doubles Title, the first in Duluth East Boys Tennis history.
Duluth East has funneled many players into successful collegiate tennis programs over time - Gustavus Adolphus College, The University of Minnesota, The College of St. Scholastica, Luther College, and many more across the state and the country.
The program is guided by Chad Humphreys. Coach Humphreys looks to promote a fun, hard-working atmosphere where high-success is the goal in every aspect - team, individual, and academic.
