To enroll a student in Northstar Digital Literacy, have them fill out the CAD intake form. Be sure they choose Northstar from the question that asks about learning platforms.
After they've completed the intake form, have them take a CASAS assessment. The 905R will be the correct test for most people.
When the DAE teacher, Linnea, receives their Intake Form, she will create an account for them on Northstar and invite them via email to join the platform. Students should watch their email for an email from Northstar Digital L. There is a chance it could end up in their spam folder.
The document below will walk students through how to set up their Northstar account using that email they received. If they did not receive an email, please verify their correct email with Linnea right away.
Creating your Northstar Digital Literacy AcccountTo proctor an exam:
If a student wants to take a proctored exam in order to receive a certificate, please follow the instructions in this document using the pin RP4VNV.
Note: there is no need to take attendance for Northstar work, because the website tracks their hours as long as they choose No, not at Duluth Adult Ed when they login. It is really important they choose no or none of their hours will be recorded.
If a student wants their certificate, let Linnea know and she can print them off or email them.
