Honors Science 9 is a year-long course that correlates with state standards set by the state of Minnesota for all students taking science in the 9th grade. This course is divided into two semesters and students will receive a final grade for each semester. Students must then receive a passing grade in each semester to then move onto Biology courses in the 10th grade. Semester 1 is primarily chemistry-based topics and semester 2 is primarily physics-based topics. Honors Science 9 covers the same content and standards taught in regular Science 9, but those topics are covered at a faster pace than in a regular course. Students may also be asked to complete different projects or labs, at a higher ability level.
