Our Volunteer Therapy Dog, Misty!

Meet our Pet Partners volunteers, Mickey and Misty!

Misty is a certified therapy dog through Pet Partners. Pet Partners is a national program that trains, evaluates, and registers volunteers and their pets for visiting people in nursing homes, hospitals, and schools.

Misty and her owner Mickey currently visit the memory care unit at Edgewood Vista, the pediatrics department at Essentia, and UMD. They are excited to add Hermantown Elementary to their list.

Mickey and Misty visit 2-3 mornings a month, where they spend time greeting students as they arrive, visiting classrooms for story time, and reading with small groups.
