Golf Season is HERE!
The North High Boys Golf Team and the North Tartan Girls Golf Team are gearing up for an exciting and inclusive spring season! We welcome golfers of all experience levels—from first-timers to seasoned players—who are looking to learn the game in a low-stress, supportive environment. This year, we will field three teams: Varsity, JV, and Developmental, ensuring that every golfer has a place to grow, compete, and make new friends.
Prospective North High boys and girls golfers are invited to an informational meeting on February 24th in Room 116, right after school at 2:50 p.m. The meeting will run until about 3:15 p.m.
Prospective Tartan girls golfers will have their informational meeting on February 25th after school at 2:50 p.m. (Cafeteria).
Come learn about the season, meet the coaches, and see why golf is a great fit for everyone!

We provide student-athletes avenues for positive learning experiences while being less focused on the outcomes and more about the process that leads to our own version of success. We will get to this place by being honest, mindful, as well as showing compassion and empathy to ourselves and others. In the golf program we hope to instill a love of golf as a lifelong sport with the aim to grow the game for both competitive and leisure purposes regardless of skill.
When I look back on my student athletic experiences I had many coaches who had a truly positive impact in my life beyond just the sport I was playing. This drives me as a coach to be more of a mentor who teaches love of activity and sport while trying to move beyond just wins and losses. If students can improve in their skill at a given sport while also improving in the core values from our purpose statement then I would consider it a successful season. Winning and success are important, but should not be the primary focus of our team's goals and accomplishments.
