Concert Choir and Jr. High Choir  2023                    

One of the major ideas this year is to be organized and professionally focused as a whole choir with one goal in mind…create music that is moving and uplifting to everyone that comes in contact with the words out of our mouths. How do we achieve such a goal? 

Requirements

1. Be on time to class with music in your possession

2. Positive mindset even in the challenges the music may present

3. No Food

4. No Gum

5. Unless sick or doctor note, you are required to be at ALL performances.

6. Respect Mr. Horn and Mrs. Carlson

7. Keep the Choir Room neat and organized 

8. Robes will be given out, they will be hung up where they belong and will not be wrinkled. If they come back wrinkled in any way you will be responsible for the dry cleaning bill.

9. Respect one another

10. Enjoy working as a team, and collaborating towards our goals

11. You will be given a folder and a slot in the cupboard. You are responsible for the music and will be charged if it is in need of being replaced. No music on the ground after class.

Grading

Each day you will be given three points based on your effort, attitude, and punctuality. This may not seem like alot of points, but by quarter end it could be the difference in a A letter grade and a B.

Concerts are worth 50% of your grade! Do not miss them. I say it alot but I hope you understand by missing a concert you change the sound of the choir. We are a team and need each person to take ownership! 

Tardies

1st offense: Recorded to the office loss of point

2nd offense: Recorded to the office loss of all points for the day

3rd offense: Sent to the office for the remainder of the class period

4th offense: Sent to the office, detention with Mr. Horn

5th offense: Sent to the office, meeting with parents

Choir is a family, it goes through its ups and downs but all in all when the going gets tough we have eachothers backs. We come from many different backgrounds and might have some very strong feelings about people in this group (Good/Bad). This melting pot will be something that you will remember for the rest of your days, so make it the best year of your life. We are counting on you and I cannot wait for an amazing year.
