Glad you could stop by, my name is Joe DeMars and I'm teaching science for grades 5th, 6th, 7th and 10th grades. I've always had an interest in how things work and was set on being an aquatic research scientist; that was until I taught a lab section in college and realized how much more fun teaching was.
Since graduation, I have taught math and science in Alternative Education. It was here that I developed the belief that a good education begins with a good working relationship. I believe that students will do well when they can and it is my job to get them into a space where learning can happen.
Outside of the classroom I enjoy silent sports (i.e. things without a motor), riding bikes, sailing, running, etc. and really anything that gets me outdoors.
