John Adams Choir & Music Exploration

My name is Mr. Michael Deiss and I am the Choral Director at John Adams Middle School. I have had the opportunity to be teaching the students of John Adams for the past 11 years! I am excited to work with the choral students as we expand their knowledge of vocal music, develop their vocal techniques, and learn music theory and history.  I am also excited to work with the music exploration students as we explore music in a variety of ways, including units involving acoust guitars, digital keyboards, various types of drums, and bucket drumming.

I look forward to my eleventh year working with the choral and music exploration students at John Adams Middle School and accomplishing great things during the 2023-2024 school year! In addition to directing the choral program at John Adams, I am also the John Adam's Staff Development Co-Chairperson, a member of the District Staff Development Committee, a member of the District Music Advisory Team, Facilitator of the District's Middle School Music PLC group, the District's Secondary Music Representative, a member of the John Adam's Building Leadership, and the John Adam's Music Department Chairperson.
