We encourage healthy choices for snack break. Our break is from 10:05-10:20. Students also have the option of purchasing a milk ticket. Milk tickets are $10.00 for 20 milks.

Students receive 12 words a week and we focus on the identified skill.
In 5th grade we have 10 reading themes in our Benchmark Series. Each unit last 3 weeks. The following are the unit titles:

Students are required to read outside of school daily. I encourage students to read at least 20 minutes a night. Each quarter students are required to show his/her reading progress. This may include quizzes, book talks, or book activities.
Throughout the year we will work on the 6 Traits of Writing through journaling and specific essays.

We use Second Step and Better Together to help students with their social emotional learning.
Students will receive lessons regarding the importance of technology and the proper use through resources from Common Sense. Students will also interact with programs to enhance their keyboarding skills.
