Teacher Contact
I welcome frequent communication. This communication plays a huge part in the success of your student. The best way to get in contact with me is through Seesaw and/or email. My e-mail is jennifer.beaman@isd485.org . If you are not yet connected to Seesaw please ask me to help you do so. You can also send a note with your student or call me on my classroom phone, 320-584-4134. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns; I will address them as soon as possible.
Bring Everything Home Folder
Your student will have a yellow “BEE” folder. The “LEFT” side will be labeled “Left at Home” and the “RIGHT” side will be labeled “Bring Right Back”. Please check your student’s BEE folder daily to see work they have completed, homework that may be assigned, or other informational items.
Milk Break / Snack/ Water Bottles
Students will have a snack/milk break every day. If a student has milk tickets, they can choose to have milk with their snack. Milk tickets are $10 for 20 milks. Students also may bring a snack for themselves. This snack will not be shared. Snacks will be stored in their locker until snack time. I strongly encourage a healthy snack! All students will need a water bottle. They may only have plain water to drink during the day. All water bottles will be sent home on Fridays to clean.
Birthdays
On their birthday, your student may bring store-bought, individually wrapped, treats to celebrate with the class. We currently have 23 students in our class. Summer birthdays can be celebrated on their “half” birthday.
Change in Schedule/Bus Passes
Please send a signed note in the morning if your student has a change in how he/she will be going home. This note will be signed by me and then given to the office. If there is a change after the student has left the house, please call the office (320)-584-4000 directly. Do not attempt to contact me directly as I may not have a chance to check my email/SEESAW/voicemail before the end of the day.
Classroom Management
My classroom management and discipline is built upon creating good relationships with my students as well as the CATALYST classroom management model. This model helps promote a calm and caring classroom environment in which students will learn to govern themselves.
We have a schoolwide PAWS expectation as well.
P - personal best A - act responsibly W - work and play safely S- show respect
These expectations will be modeled and practiced within our classroom as well as areas around the school and the bus. If a student, after redirection, chooses not to display their PAWS then they will earn a minor or a major. A minor is given after redirections have proven to be unsuccessful. A major is issued after three minors or immediately if the offense relates to the safety of students and staff or property damage occurs. Parent contact and or principal contact will be made for each offense.
When students are “caught” doing something good anywhere around the school, a PAWS slip will be sent home. This is something to be noted and praised! Each week their name will be put into a drawing for a small prize.
Gym/Music/Spanish
Students will attend daily specials for 50 min. Please remember on PE days to send your student with rubber soled shoes to safely participate in PE.
DAY 1 SPANISH/PE DAY 2 MUSIC/SPANISH Day 3 PE/MUSIC
Classroom Parties
I will have class parties periodically throughout the year. If you are able to contribute $7 to help me defer the costs, I would appreciate that. Also, this would be a great time for you to volunteer!
