Chromebook Responsibility and Care Instructions
Screens
Screens on all devices should only be cleaned with a soft, clean cloth. Chemical cleaners or liquids, including water, should not be used on any device.
Make sure you don't have anything between the screen and keyboard as you close the Chromebook.
Do not stack items or put weight on the device. Chromebooks should not be stacked or wedged tightly into a backpack. The case or laptop should not be used as a folder or for holding other items.
Charging Cables
Be sure the Chromebook is charged for the next school day.
Be careful and gentle as you connect and disconnect the power cord. Avoid bending the charger's cord at sharp angles and never force the connection.
If the battery is not charging, try removing the charging cable and fully reinserting it. Do not wiggle the power cord while it is plugged in.
The Chromebook should be in a ventilated space while charging. Do not charge the Chromebook while it is stored in a backpack or other carrying case.
Do not insert things into openings (ports) of the Chromebook that are not designed for that port (pens, erasers, etc.)
Prevent Drops
You are strongly encouraged to use a case as added protection for your Chromebook. Even if your Chromebook is in a case, always avoid dropping it.
Keep your Chromebook away from the edges of tables and desks.
Use both hands when moving the Chromebook. It is safer to close the Chromebook before moving.
Never lift or carry the Chromebook by the screen to prevent screen damage.
Exposure Risks
Liquids, food, and other debris can damage the devices. Devices should be kept away from such material at all times.
Use the Chromebook on a flat stable surface. Do not use the Chromebook in your lap or on a pillow because the device needs sufficient ventilation and air circulation.
Devices should not be exposed to extreme temperature conditions. Do not leave a device in an area that would have temperatures below freezing or above 95 degrees. Devices should never be left in a vehicle overnight.
Keep magnetic devices away from your Chromebook.
