My name is Dianna Hazelton, and I am proud to serve as Principal of Greenway Middle/High School. I am in my third year at Greenway, working with students in grades 5–12, and it is truly an honor to be part of this school and community.
What I love most about Greenway is the strong sense of community and the pride in being Raiders and Titans. There is something special about a place where students, staff, families, the school board, and the entire community rally around kids. You can feel it during Homecoming, Greenie Gambol, Day of Caring, GMS Jam Day, and in the many ways our community shows up to support Greenway. These traditions mean something. They bring us together, build pride, and remind our students that they are part of something bigger than themselves. My hope is that our students don’t passively experience these traditions, but they carry forth this legacy with pride, respect, and a deep commitment to their community.
Relationships are everything. I truly believe that strong connections with students and staff are the foundation of a great school. When students know they are cared for, supported, and challenged by adults who believe in them, they thrive. When staff feel supported and connected, our work for kids is stronger. These relationships are what allow us to do our best work every day.
Providing a safe and supportive learning environment is at the heart of what we do. We want every student to feel seen, valued, and respected. We embrace the diversity of our learners and hold high expectations because we believe in our students’ potential. Through our Portrait of a Graduate, we are intentional about developing creativity and innovation, communication, collaboration, adaptability and resilience, critical thinking, and citizenship in our students. These traits show up every day - in classrooms, in activities and athletics, and through real connections in our community. We want our students to graduate not only with knowledge, but with the skills, character, and confidence to step into whatever comes next.
My background is in mathematics education, and I taught grades 5–12 before moving into school leadership. That classroom experience continues to shape how I lead each day. I care deeply about both student learning and growth, as well as the learning and growth of our staff. I truly enjoy being in classrooms and learning alongside students whenever I have the opportunity.
I am grateful to serve Greenway. Please don’t hesitate to reach out, stop by, or connect. I value our partnership and am proud to work alongside our students, staff, and families to continue building something special here at Greenway.
