In the Event of Illness/Injury:
If Ill please refer to current ISD 31 Policies regarding Illness/Symptoms.
A note must be sent with your child if you feel that he/she should not participate in certain activities (ie. phy ed class, recess) because of an existing condition. If your child is unable to participate in an activity for more than two days, a doctor’s note is required.(Taken from the Student Handbook)
Dress Expectations:
The home and school need to cooperate in the manner of dress. School is the child’s workplace. Children do better when dressed in a manner that does not interfere with learning. Bandanas, short shorts or skirts, bare midriff, halter-tops, spaghetti straps or offensive pictures/wording on clothing are considered inappropriate. Clothing advertising alcohol or tobacco products are prohibited by district policy. Caps, hats and jackets will not be worn in the building.(Taken from the Student Handbook)
A note on shoes
PLEASE send your child with adequate footwear for safe activity such as snug fitting strap, elastic or lace up athletic type shoes(depending on shoe tying ability). A suggestion is, if possible, have your child leave a pair in their locker so they will have them daily. Depending on the activity a child wearing the following may not be able to participate; Cowboy Boots, High Heels, Dress Style, Flip Flops, Boots, Bare feet, Slip-On Shoes are some examples. In the event of not having proper footwear the student will either sit out or walk the outside of the play area in order to get activity during class time.
We kindly ask that you not send your child with tie shoes until they know how to tie them by themselves.
