Plug into your dock with the SMART Board plugged in. It should prompt you to open security settings.
*If not you can find this under the Apple in the top left corner, then System Preferences. Open Security and Privacy.
If needed click the padlock to ‘Unlock’ it using your laptop password.
In Input Monitoring "SmartBoardService" will be populated - right click it, open file location - then drag this window to the side. (You’ll need it later)
Still in Input Monitoring hit the + to add more - add from Applications: Notebook, Smart Ink and Smart Settings.
Click ‘Accessibility’ from the list on the left and add the same 4 again. Click the + and add Notebook, Smart Ink and Smart Settings as before.
Grab "SmartBoardService" from the OpenFileLocation window we dragged aside in Step 3 - drag smartboardservice into the Accessibility list.
With those four entries in both Accessibility and Input Monitoring, reboot the laptop.
Log back in and open Notebook.
If asked, answer all the questions it may ask in affirmatives. (Click ‘Yes’ or ‘Next’ through the prompts).
