Welcome to my classroom website! My name is Mr. Brown and I am in my 18th year of teaching here at PEM Schools. I began my career in fifth grade for one year then spent 13 years teaching first grade. This will be my fifth year as a third grade teacher. Being a teacher can have its challenges, but I can honestly say it is my passion to work with young students everyday throughout the school year. I also coach jv and varsity football.
I grew up in Zumbrota, MN where I graduated high school in 2002. I started and finished my college career at Mankato State University. I graduated from MSU in the winter of 2006. I spent a semester substitute teaching in the area. I then moved to Willmar, MN and became a building substitute at a k-3 elementary where I earned much needed experience working with all kinds of abilities, ethnic groups and personalities. The following year I was hired here at PEM and the rest is history.
I have a wonderful family, full of love and chaos. My wife Ashley and I live in Elgin, MN. We have three sweet and sour children, Easton (12), Harvey (9) and Luca (2) We recently lost our pup Pearl (in the photo above) to an accident, but now have a pup named Stevie who has transitioned will into our family. We enjoy going on trips, walks, spending time with nearby family, playing board games and lots of extracurricular activities that our boys are in. Some of my hobbies include cooking, working out, watching sports, fishing, hunting, coaching youth sports and of course spending time with my family.
