Reading Helps Your Brain Grow!
My job is to identify students who might benefit from additional reading instruction outside of their regular classroom and then provide that individualized support. The goal of the intervention is to help "catch kids up" so they are reading at grade-level.
Each fall, winter, and spring, our reading and Title 1 staff screen all students and review data to determine who might benefit from an intervention. Those students who are identified as having the greatest need will be offered the opportunity to participate. After parental permission is given, I will work 20-25 minutes daily with children in either a 1:1 or 1:2 teacher to student ratio.
