!! Next Meeting: September 18th 2025 !!
SORT YOUR TRASH AT LUNCH! It only takes a few seconds!
Compost your paper towels and bags at TJ Coffeehouse
Bring your own water bottle to school - JHS has refill stations everywhere
Are you a coffee addict? Bring your own mug or tumbler when you go to Caribou or Starbucks! They usually give you a discount too, so it's a win-win
Only put recycling in the blue recycling bins (no gum, pencils, or staples)
Use air dryers instead of paper towels
Use plastic utensils sparingly
Tell your friends to join Earth Corps!
WATER SMART! Less frequent (once a week, including rain), deep (1/4-1 in.) watering is enough for most laws. Click here for more information.
Turn the lights off when you're not in a room
Set the thermostat to be warmer in the summer and cooler in the winter. Just one degree can save 10% of energy use in a year!
Reduce your animal product consumption - especially beef, pork, lamb, and cheese. Avoiding meat and dairy is the 'single biggest way' to reduce your impact on Earth
Start composting! Either use Bloomington's organics drop-off system or start your own!
Do laundry with cool water
Bring reusable cloth or freezer bags while grocery shopping. Plastic bags are a huge contributor to plastic pollution.
Try to use more public (buses, carpooling) or zero-emission (walking, biking, skateboarding, rollerblading) transportation
When ordering drinks at a restaurant, ask for no straws
Buy your clothing secondhand. Thrifting is not just better for the environment, it's also fun and cheap!
