Parent/Guardian Message for January 29, 2024

Greetings Jefferson Families

We have already moved into the second half of this school year, and I am happy to report that it continues to be a very successful year. Our student achievement remains strong, sports and activities are enjoying successes, and our halls are peaceful with just the right amount of teenage energy. 

Below are just a few updates for your review.

Trimester 2 Electronic Conferencing. During the next two weeks our teachers will be making concerted efforts to reach out to all families regarding student progress. You should receive communications from many of your student’s teachers to update you on current progress, as well as planning for the remainder of the trimester.

Registration Completion for the 2024-2025 School Year. This is a reminder that all students in grades 9-11 need to complete their Academic Plan in Infinite Campus by February 2nd. Counselors will be going into students' classes to answer any last questions and ensure they have completed this process. You can review your student's Academic Plan and assist them with completing it by following these instructions.

Senior Achievement Awards. The District’s Senior Achievement Awards are an amazing opportunity to celebrate current Seniors who demonstrate excellence in or make contributions to the school and community in one of four areas: artistic excellence, curricular excellence, leadership and volunteerism. To nominate a senior, please complete THIS FORM. Submissions are due by February 9.

Therapy Dog. This is an annual notice that Jefferson provides a Therapy Dog in our common space most days of the week during the midday. Many students (and staff) enjoy a brief moment with one of these trained dogs, but certainly no student is obligated to interact or go near the dog. Below is a photo of one of these dogs on duty.

Calendar. A few important upcoming dates to keep in mind:

• Friday, February 9 - No School (conference comp day)

• Monday, February 19- No School (Presidents Day)

• Thursday, February 29 - Final Exams Day 1

• Friday, March 1 - Final Exams Day 2 / Last Day of Tri 2
