You need to pick a columnist who is consistently writing about current local, national, and/or international events. (You may not choose advice, entertainment, food, or sports columnists.)
Choose an editorial writer that appeals to you, or consider selecting someone that challenges your existing views.

Using ProQuest for Research
Most newspaper websites often have a limit on the number of free articles one can view per month using their public link.
To avoid the limit, you should use ProQuest US Newsstream to search for articles written by your columnist.
Here is how you can find articles in ProQuest US Newsstream:
Search for the newspaper or magazine by clicking on Publications, then choose your Source type.
Next, click on the beginning letter of the newspaper or magazine
Search by the editorial writer’s name or search for editorial articles by clicking on Advanced Search.
Under Document Type choose Editorial then click Search.
Saving an article in ProQuest Newsstream
Save the article to your Google Drive.
Click on All Options, then Cloud Saving: Google Drive.
Click on the link to Google Drive to see your article.
