The draw room is located in the media center at the top of the main stairs on the 3rd Floor. Please reference the FHS Map if you cannot find it.
Draw Room Rules and Guidelines
All students will proceed to the main draw room (located in the media center) 45 minutes prior to their assigned speaking time for the round.
There will be a draw meeting for all draw students at 8:15am.
There is a 8 minute stagger on draw times. Once the student draws, they are permitted to leave the media center to prep.
Draws will be done electronically. Please make sure you are able to log in at live.speechwire.com. When it is your draw time, please proceed to the draw desk and upon your arrival, they will release the draws to you electronically. You must be present at the desk for your draws to be released.
Remember that your prep time is only 30 minutes. You must report to the competition room immediately at the conclusion of your prep time. Students who are reported to be frequently delinquent in arriving to their rooms may be subject to protest and/or disqualification.
Extemp Reading - Prose: Students will select their cutting from the 3 they draw. Students may adapt their cutting to accommodate the 7 minute time limit, including introduction.
All students are expected to perform a different cutting or topic for each round. If a student draws a cutting or topic which they have previously performed at this tournament, the student needs to alert the draw room moderator and they will help the student redraw.
