The purpose of this "toolkit" is:

• To help families and support teams understand the order in which children develop certain behavioral skills, according to scientific research;

• To identify an individual child's current level of behavioral development, regardless of age or grade level; 

• To guide teams in selecting specific and developmentally appropriate behavioral skills to work on (e.g., IEP goals/objectives); and

• To provide some simple research-based strategies and reputable resources.
