My name is Mr. Ferry. I am from Edina, Minnesota, but went to college in both Denver, Colorado and Oxford, Mississippi . This is my fourth year teaching math at Fridley Middle School. Some of my hobbies include: exercise, reading, checking out new restaurants in Minneapolis, and watching sports. I am very excited to embrace the unique challenges that this school year will bring for both students and teachers.
My name is Ms. Schmieg and I am enjoying my 3rd year of teaching. I have previously taught high school for the last 2 years. I am engaged to her high school sweetheart and love spending time with him and my pets. I have 2 dogs, 2 rabbits, and 3 ducks.
I have my bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota and my master's degree from Bethel University.
In my free time, I enjoy being outside, wake-boarding and going to concerts.
Hi I am Mr. Ellingson (Mr. E) and I teach 8th Grade Math. This is my 16th year teaching at FMS and my 26th year teaching overall. I spend most of my time with my wife (who works here as well) and my 4 kids. I have 2 boys and two girls; Jaxen-14, Jayda-12, Jaymik-10, and Jalaina-7 and they keep me very busy.
I graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth for undergrad and Lesley University for my masters degree.
In my little amount of free-time I like to golf, hang out with my buddies, and cheer for all the MN sports teams!
My name is Ashley Gruhlke (most kids know me as Ms. G).
I grew up in the Twin Cities and went to college at Augsburg University in Minneapolis. After student teaching in Mpls, I went abroad to teach in Greece on the island of Crete. The cultures and lifestyles of everyone I lived with and met inspired me to never forget honoring each individual for their strengths and encouraging each through their struggles. In middle school, students face the highs and lows every day, so I get the privilege of being a part of their growth each year. I love math, teaching math, and making math jokes. Through UW - River Falls, I earned my Masters in Mathematics & Education and I've been teaching at FMS since 2014. My husband and I live in Fridley with our fluffy puppy, Kona.
