• Layu Cafe- great coffee and small foods- like our version of Starbucks
• Sweet Coffee- Coffee, food, desserts and yummy milkshakes
• Red Stone- Restaurant with American and Mexican specialties- watch American and European sporting events at the bar
• American Embassy is located in Almadies
• King Fahd Hotel- kid friendly- kid’s playground and two swimming pools- one for toddlers and one for adults. For a fee, sit at poolside all day long. Bring your own food or buy lunch poolside or eat at adjoining restaurant
• Le Jardin Restaurant- Fancy, nice place for a date- like most restaurants in Dakar- opens at 7:00 PM for dinner
• Furniture lady- set up on the road across from the King Fahd Hotel- sells beautifully colored chairs, tables and baskets
