May 28 - 30, 2026
The ISB golf team closed out an excellent season with a 3rd-place finish at the ISST Championship in Frankfurt, marking a major step forward for the program. After several seasons of growth and development, the team made the jump from building experience to competing for the podium, finishing 8 points ahead of FIS to secure 3rd place.
The tournament was played in sunny, hot, and humid conditions on an excellent golf course. The team also produced its best score at the Frankfurt course over the past four years, making the ISST podium finish a fitting culmination of the work built across multiple seasons.
There were strong performances throughout the team. Victoria finished tied for 5th overall and was the top female golfer at the tournament. Ariana finished 12th overall and was the second female golfer. Alex and Leo also produced top-15 finishes, giving ISB excellent depth across the leaderboard. Hong-Wei played a season-high score on Saturday and became one of the four scoring golfers in the team event, while Zayd played steady and consistent golf in his first ISST experience.
The ISST podium finish followed another strong result earlier in the season, when ISB finished 3rd overall in the Belgian International School Golf Championship. Together, these results reflect a season of real progress, consistency, and competitive growth.
Just as importantly, ISB also won the ISST Sportsmanship Award for the third consecutive year. This award reflects the positive attitude the team brings to the course, their respect for the game, and their understanding of golf’s self-policing traditions. It was a proud finish to a successful season and a clear sign of the direction in which the program is moving.

Travelling to Vienna for the ISST U14 Softball Championships, the team overcame travel delays and an opening 4-2 loss to ASL London to bounce back with an incredible run of dominant performances.
The girls went on to win 5 of their 6 games, including crucial victories over tournament favorites AIS Vienna (5-3) and a flawless Day 2. Despite tying for the top spot with a 4-1 pool record, a tiebreaker system narrowly kept ISB out of the gold medal match. Undeterred, the Raiders showed true resilience, defeating FIS 11-3 to secure the Bronze Medal.
Final Record: 5 Wins – 1 Loss
Offensive Power: 51 runs scored across 6 games
Key Victories: Dominant wins over ZIS (11-2), FIS Frankfurt (7-1 & 11-3), AIS Vienna (5-3), and ASH (15-0).
Beyond the Bronze: The real success of this group went far beyond wins and losses. Throughout the weekend, the girls demonstrated immense growth, teamwork, and resilience, representing ISB with pride both on and off the field. Communicate. Believe. NEXT.
Go Raiders!
May 28 - 30, 2026
The 2025-26 tennis season was defined by resilience, commitment, and character. Despite not having a full roster until the day before our final tournament, the team earned a 5th-place overall finish. Our Boys Doubles 1 pair battled their way to an outstanding 2nd-place result against exceptional competition - Frankfurt. Our Girls Doubles 2, both 9th graders, and not ISST solidified until the last minute ended up winning most matches and securing 4th place. All players did their best and put their best foot forward; hence securing 5th place overall.
Yet our greatest achievement may have been being selected for the Sportsmanship Award among all eight participating schools! This honor reflects the respect, integrity, and excellence our players displayed throughout the season and serves as a fitting example of our school's CARE values in action.
May 28 - 30, 2026
In a season filled with plenty of new experiences and learning, Varsity Softball embraced every game with positivity and a commitment to improving each day. The team finished the season with competitive games at ISST's and big improvements in the field and on the base path. We are looking forward to building on this progress next year, with Carla and Charly leading the way in their swan song as long time, multi-sport Raiders!
May 28 - 30, 2026
Coach Jackson: "The boys did great this ISST. We captured 4th Place, and our first ISST win in 2 years. I couldn't be more proud of the effort and fight they showed throughout the tournament. Max and Shoma played awesome. David Valstar walked out of his last appearance with 9 strikeouts in 4 innings against ASH. Kota had a great start against ASP with 7 strikeouts in 5 innings. Max closed out ASP to lock us into 4th Place. It was great to see the progress they made in 5 weeks."
May 28 - 30, 2026
Our boys opened the tournament against AISV, falling in straight sets (22-25, 20-25, 5-25). They then faced ZIS and continued to battle hard before taking on ASP in their most competitive match of the tournament. After losing the first two sets (11-25, 14-25), the boys showed tremendous resilience to win the next two (25-23, 25-21) and force a deciding fifth set, narrowly losing 13-15.
On Friday afternoon, ISB played ASH and lost a set (25-21) but ultimately winning the match in four sets. In the 5th-place playoff on Saturday, the team faced ASP once again and fell 25-13, 25-19, 25-18. Despite the results, the boys showed determination, improved throughout the competition, and represented ISB with pride, finishing 6th overall.
May 28 - 30, 2026
The journey to ZIS went well, even though we got to the school just a bit later than expected.
That did not prevent the team from winning a great first game (3-1) against ASP. They served very well and stayed ultra focused and steady from the second to the fourth set.
After a nice break, they got on the court again (this time earlier than expected) and went on a marathon game through 5 sets to claim victory against FIS.
Even if playing time is not equal in this tournament, everyone got time on the court and each player was a key element for those 2 successes.
On Saturday, the team started with two strong sets against ASH, dropping the energy in the third set, but coming back stronger in the fourth to win 3-1.
Finishing 1st in our pool was not the goal at the beginning, but it was certainly a well deserved result.
The next game got the team facing ZIS, the host team very strong team
It is difficult to find the right words to sum up such a short and intense season. Coaches and players have learned so much and have experienced many different emotions.
One thing is certain, we had a lot of fun !
We want to congratulate the team that went to ISST and placed 4th in the tournament, but also each athlete who grew as an individual player, a teammate and a person!

Coach Vince breaks down the game in the post game presser: "It was a great first game for us despite the result. It was the first opportunity for us to come through as a team and apply what we have been working during our practices. The score unfortunately does not reflect the quality of the game. It was a tight game, where both teams gave their best. A lot of back and forth and quality shots were taken on both sides. Unfortunately, it came down to small mistakes on our end and some miss transitions especially while fatigue started settling in during the third quarter. Big shout out to both goalies for their amazing saves.
We can wait to take what we learn this weekend to our next game on the 19th!
Our MVP goes to Georges for is relentless effort throughout the entire game and to JP for protecting our cage so well."
Week of May 4 - 9, 2026
ISB golfers had a busy and successful week of competition. The week began with the ISB-hosted leg of the Belgian International School Golf League at 7 Fontaines, where cold and rainy conditions made for a challenging afternoon. Ariana led the team with 21 points, helping ISB finish 2nd on the day.
Following the final leg hosted by Antwerp, ISB finished 3rd overall in the championship, behind BSB and Antwerp. Individually, Alex finished 4th overall, while Hong-Wei also earned a top-10 finish in 9th place.
The team also travelled to Frankfurt for a valuable event on the course that will host this year’s ISSTs. In excellent conditions, the group played some outstanding golf. Ariana and Victoria both set new ISB single-round scoring records, and the team tied FIS on Saturday before narrowly losing on a tiebreak. Overall, it was a strong week of golf and an excellent step forward for the team.
May 8 + 9, 2026
Varsity Tennis split with the Warriors on the weekend, with a big win on Saturday. A memorable moment came from Amelie and Alexandre, whose strong play and calm communication led to an excellent performance on court. Amelie left the match glowing, calling it one of the best matches she had ever played, while Alexandre continued his strong weekend with a high level of play in both doubles and singles competition.
The weekend also highlighted Rebecca’s commitment to the team, as she continued to compete with determination and a positive attitude throughout the tournament.
One of the highlights of the weekend came from Freddy and Lila, who earned an impressive win over a highly favored Frankfurt pairing. Freddy remained steady and positive throughout, while Lila brought her trademark energy and encouragement to every point. Their constant racket touches, high-fives, and reminders of “It’s okay, we’ve got this” after missed shots showcased the teamwork and court chemistry the team had been emphasizing throughout the tournament.
A positive weekend for the girls against the FIS Warriors! Across four games, everyone contributed and it’s clear the team’s confidence is growing. With ISSTs just weeks away, the group is starting to click at exactly the right time. The offense showed aggressive base running and more consistent contact, while the infield worked seamlessly to keep the pressure on. Our pitching was outstanding, providing a solid platform for every game.
Ariel: Huge defensive double play, consistent hitting (including a double), and excellent base running.
Darina: Solid work at third base and a powerhouse weekend at the plate with multiple doubles.
Macey: A strong Saturday performance highlighted by confident batting and a fantastic catch.
Maddie: Composed and locked in; pitching was outstanding all weekend.
Coco: Set the perfect tone at the top of the order by consistently getting on base.
Camille: Strong at first base and at the plate, including a brilliant bases-loaded home run!
Mia: Great focus behind the plate with important catches and stellar work as catcher.
The Outfield: Stayed focused and handled some big hits well.
Overall, a brilliant team effort!
Varsity Baseball Shoutouts from Frankfurt:
Solid pitching from David Valstar and Kota Okabe
Strong outing by Rares Caciuleanu both offensively and defensively
Nicolas Larez successfully completed his first full game at catcher
Varsity Softball was in tough against some strong Warrior bats, but showed real progress on the basepath and in the field. Shout out to Natalie for her home run, to Lily for super consistent pitching all weekend, and to Arcthy for a solid rip into the outfield. Carla stepped up with some fantastic diving grabs at shortstop!
U14 baseball played hard this weekend against the Warriors. Friday night we started off strong and played hard but came away with a pair of losses. Then on Saturday morning we started flat in the first game. But in the second game the defense got going and the bats started moving. It lead to a much closer game but a loss of 3-5. It was a good weekend overall and a lot of development is still happening!
May 1 + 2, 2026
The Varsity Softball team continues to improve, with consistent contact at the plate, and more aggression on the basepath. Shout out to Lily who hit a rope down the left field line, to Carla for consistent strength at the plate and to Charly for a solid single to left field. Great catches by Yuval and Stacey in left center. The girls celebrated their first win of the season against The Warriors, 8 - 4, after a tight 8-7 loss the day before. The final road trip of the season is this week as we travel to Frankfurt with the U14 teams!
Varsity Baseball Highlights:
1st HR of the season - Shoma
1st Bunt of the season (everyone safe) - Toki
1st Double Play of the Season - Lucas (unassisted at 3rd base)
Varsity Tennis delivered a strong set of performances this week against The Hague and Frankfurt, with all matches played in a fast-paced 45-minute format.
Against ASH, we were dominant, winning 13 of 15 matches and showing confident, consistent play throughout.
The Frankfurt matches were a much closer contest against one of our main ISST rivals. We finished with 4 wins, 8 losses, and 1 tie, and a tight overall game score of 51–63, highlighting how competitive many of the matches were.
With a small squad of only 6 boys and 3 girls, all players stepped up with persistence, teamwork, and great effort. Special mention to Freddy…who remains undefeated…or at least undefeated-ish, with every match ending in a win or a tie.
May 1 + 2, 2026
The Varsity Team competed against Wiesbaden, Baumholder, SHAPE, Kaiserslautern, Black Forest Academy, and the host, The Warriors. The girls spring medley relay and girls discus took first place! Nice job, Raiders!
May 1 + 2, 2026
A stellar weekend for U14 Softball with 4 wins from 4 games! While the offense stayed hot all weekend, the real highlight was the team’s defensive growth; Saturday showed a marked shift in focus, sharper communication, and quicker outs compared to the first two games on Friday evening. Beyond the scoreboard, the girls demonstrated great resilience and a "team-first" mentality against competitive ASH and FIS sides. We’re slowly building momentum and belief as we head into the rest of the season. Shoutouts:
Maddie & Sophie: Exceptional composure and development at the pitching plate under pressure.
Darina, Macey, Maddie, Ariel, & Camille: Power hitting! (Home runs and doubles).
Talya & Mia B: Great sportsmanship for stepping in as catchers for a shorthanded FIS team.
U14 Baseball had a great weekend of baseball with beautiful weather at ISB. While we did not come away with any wins during the weekend, we competed in some solid games against ASH and FIS. We really started to get our pitching going and had some wonderful defensive plays! Then the bats started coming alive during our Saturday games. While, we are still winless, the team is improving and actually having fun playing baseball out there!
From the U14 A Boys Volleyball Camp: Overall, the level of play was very good, and we showed strong effort and attitude throughout the matches. Against ASH, even though we sometimes had a difficult start, we managed to raise the quality of our game and eventually won both matches 3-0. Against Frankfurt, we had opportunities to take sets, but they were more efficient and consistent in the key moments at the end of each set. We will get our revenge next weekend.
Plenty of photos from the weekend at home with the U14 A Girls Volleyball Team! The level of these teams was much more balanced, which led to several great rallies and a match that was fought until the very end. The girls show a strong willingness to improve and consistently bring a very positive attitude.
April 24 + 25, 2026
The JV/V tennis team recently returned from a competitive and spirited trip to London, where 10 of our high school players represented the school with determination and drive. While the overall results may not fully reflect their efforts, the level of play tells a much stronger story.
Matches were played in a fast-paced format of first to four games, with a tiebreak at 3–3, and many came down to multiple deuce and advantage points. Again and again, our players pushed their opponents to the edge. While they may have struggled to win those final points, their consistency, composure, and improvement were clear to see.
Throughout the trip, students showed great sportsmanship, supported one another, and embraced the experience of competing internationally. This was a trip defined not by the scoreboard, but by perseverance, growth, and a strong competitive spirit.
Varsity Softball had a fun first weekend of play with a lot of learning and new players to the game. Plenty of contact on the bats and getting the ball in play. Shout outs to Lenny for a solid double to right field, to Lily and Yagmur for some nice pitching, and some nice plays by Carla at shortstop. To Stacey and Liesl for playing for ASL on Saturday and scoring 3 runs on us! And to Charly and Annaleigh for playing the last game with the Eagles. Overall, just a great weekend of competitive softball in the sunshine!
The Varsity Boys showed great adjustments and fight over the three games. Once the jitters were worked out from game 1 they really showed the capability to be a good baseball team. They had a win against TASIS on Saturday morning, stealing home to walk it off!
April 24 + 25, 2026
A fantastic opening weekend for our U14 girls softball team against the American School in London, despite only having four practices before the season began. The team showed incredible spirit, resilience, and teamwork throughout the weekend, with strong infield play, confident hitting, and excellent support for one another on and off the field. With players rotating into different positions and many girls experiencing their first competitive softball games, this was a hugely positive start to the season and a great opportunity for growth. The team should be proud of their effort and attitude, and with continued hard work, they will only keep improving as we build towards the ISST Tournament. Special mentions go to Maddie for excellent pitching, Macy for unbelievable catches in the field, and Camille for consistent hitting, including a fantastic home run. 💪🥎
Coach Sarah breaks down U14 A Volleyball's first weekend of play: "The first set of matches gave us a really valuable first glimpse of how the team can function on the court in a real game setting, helping understand the flow, communication, and overall dynamics during competition.
Even though some of the players have only been playing for around two weeks, there are already clear small steps in their development. More importantly, there is a strong attitude towards learning, listening, and applying feedback, which is a great foundation for future progress.
Throughout the matches, the atmosphere was consistently positive, with a strong sense of encouragement between the players. Despite facing a more experienced team, we were able to produce some solid rallies and showed determination in improving the defence, managing to keep some difficult balls in play and staying engaged point after point."
Coach Liam, on the U14 A Boys performance: "Our first matches of the season were a tough start, coming up against strong serving, solid hitting, and a few unexpected tips from ASL. We had some sets where we got close but couldn’t quite close them out. We’re still putting the pieces together, but you can see the boys starting to understand the system we’re asking them to play. Not the start we were hoping for, but there’s definitely room to improve moving forward."
U14 Baseball enjoyed an opening weekend with plenty of learning and new players to the game. The boys played hard and rotated positions to get know each other and the game. Nice job, Raiders.
