Every spring, the International School of Amsterdam (ISA) organises a program designed to provide students with an opportunity to spend a week gaining valuable real-life work experience within a specific field of their choosing. Our hope is that by gaining work experience in a field students are interested in, they will learn valuable life lessons that will impact their university choices and prospective career. If you are hosting one of our students, please fill out the Supervisor Confirmation Form below.
WHO: ISA grade 10 students in partnership with a local business or organisation.
WHAT: A volunteer ‘work study’ job shadowing experience that gives students a chance to participate in an authentic work environment. Students will be working towards this placement throughout the academic year and will be expected to reflect daily on their experiences in order to share their learning and experience with their class.
WHEN: 10-13 June, 2025 (normal business hours or as directed by host organisation).
WHERE: Hosted at your business office/organisation.
WHY: Today’s students need to develop and experience the ‘real world’ to assist in making important decisions and to witness and reflect on what skills and attributes are necessary to become a working professional.
Please note: ISA has liability insurance, which covers students liability during students' internships the same as if they would be at school or on a school trip.
We truly believe that students learn as much from outside the classroom as within. We hope that you consider giving our fantastic students the opportunity to learn with and from you. Contact the Week in the Workplace team at weekinworkplace@isa.nl if you would like to host students in your organisation.
