A9 Construction Project Information

The A9 will be extended from 2 x 3 lanes to 2 x 4 lanes between Badhoevendorp and Holendrecht. At the same time, the road will be lowered over a length of 1.6 km, starting at the Van Poelgeest BMW garage on the west side and up to Beneluxbaan on the east side. The road will be covered at three places: Amsterdamseweg (old village), Stadshart and the new Mayor building. Construction work has already started and is planned to finish at the end of 2026. Cars using the A9 will from time to time experience traffic disruptions during the construction period.
