High School Applications

The Guidance Counselor helps students with the High School Application Process. Parents can visit NYC School Finder and NYC High School Information to find out information, resources and directories to guide you in the high school application process.

Please view the Queens High School Directory. Highlighted are the High Schools that many IS 230 students have applied to in past years.

High School Application Timeline

The High School Application process begins in the end of the 7th Grade.

7th Grade June - Students receive the High School Directory

July/ August - Review High School Directory

8th Grade September/October - Attend Borough and City-wide High School Fairs

Use High School Directory to check for open houses, tours, auditions, etc.

SHSAT Registration and LaGuardia Audition Registration

Students receive High School Applications

Attend IS 230 High School Workshop

Take the Specialized High School Admission (SHSAT) test - Oct 21-22, 2017

November/ December - Complete High School Application. Contact Guidance Counselor for additional information.

High School Application Due Back to Guidance Counselor on November 17, 2017.

March - Round One Results distributed (includes SHS offer where applicable)

April-June - Round Two and new schools fair

Round Two results distributed

Queens High School Fair: October 14 and 15 from 11 am – 3pm

Robert F. Wagner Jr. Secondary School for ARTS & Technology HIGH SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE

Wed. Oct 18th and Wed. Oct. 25th from 5:30 - 7:00 P.M.
