ALL ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Tiffany Brown. I am a Pre-K teacher at Irwin County Elementary School. This is my 15th year working in Pre-K. I worked 2 years as a Pre-K assistant teacher before becoming a Pre-K Lead Teacher. In Pre-K, we do a large portion of our learning through PLAY! Our students have 60 minutes of uninterrupted play at centers each day. During centers, the teachers are engaged with the students by asking open-ended questions to promote higher thinking, modeling how to use our center manipulatives, and teaching students how to properly use social-emotional skills.
A Pre-K day consists of the following:
2 Storytime sessions EVERY DAY
Large Group Literacy Activity each day(a combination of Writing and Reading activities throughout the week)
Music with movement activities daily
Phonological Awareness activity every day
Small group instruction (teacher led and independent consisting of 2-8 students per group)
Outside time
1 hour of UNINTERRUPTED center time
