  • I use Google Slides everyday in my classroom to present my reading, language arts, writing, math, science, and social studies lessons. I organize the standards, "I Can" statements, activators, work session material, and closings to my lessons on these slides.

  • Using Google Slides meets the needs of my students by providing them with clear expectations and visuals for each lesson.

🔨nearpod


  • Nearpod provides teachers and learners with interactive lessons, videos, games, and activities.

  • Nearpod can be used in the classroom during whole group instruction, or it can be assigned virtually to independent students to view and answer on their own.

  • Nearpod can be used and incorporated into any subject, but I have thoroughly enjoyed using it for science and social studies!

  • This tool meets the needs of my students by giving them visual and auditory lessons through the use of technology, and the comprehension questions motivate them to pay attention, because they will have to participate and answer questions throughout the interactive lessons.

🔨Brainpop jr.


  • BrainPop Jr. is a website that has short educational and animated videos for every subject.

  • BrainPop Jr. can be used in the classroom for the whole class to watch on the board or by individuals on their chromebooks. It can also be shared to students virtually on Google Classroom, Google Slides, or in a Google Meet.

  • I use this tool each week as lesson activators or as quick brain breaks. It is a great tool to use to introduce new topics or concepts to the students.

  • This tool meets the needs of my students by presenting material to the students in an engaging and kid-friendly manner. It appeals to various types of learners such as visual, auditory, and musical learners.

🔨epic!


  • Epic! is a website that contains a huge library of books that students can access on their account.

  • Teachers can use this tool on their board to do read alouds during whole group time, or students can access their Epic! account individual and choose books from their library to read independently.

  • Epic! can be used virtually through a shared screen on Google Meets and students can also access their Epic! account anywhere at anytime whether they are at school or home.

  • I frequently use Epic! for my daily read alouds. It is nice, because it automatically saves your spot in a book if it is longer and you are unable to finish it in one sitting. I also let my students read books on Epic! independently when we get the chance.

  • This tool meets the needs of students, because it provides a wide array of topics, reading levels, and reading options. Students can read the books by themselves, or they can choose books that can actually be read TO them. Epic! Also includes videos and audiobooks for the students to explore.

🔨Flocabulary


  • Flocabulary is a website packed with educational music videos for kids.

  • Flocabulary can be used during whole group instruction by playing the videos on the SmartBoard. It can be used virtually through Google Meets.

  • I use Flocabulary as lesson activators or closers. I especially love using it for math, because they have a ton of fun math addition and subtraction fluency songs which is a huge part of first grade math.

  • Flocabulary is a great tool for visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and musical learners. They songs are engaging and catchy, and the students will memorize the songs, which in turn helps them memorize the content being taught through the song!
