Music Teacher BIO

My name is Dee Hodnett and I am starting my 21st year teaching music at Irwin County Elementary.  I LOVE to have a good time and we do NOT just sit in our seats and sing.  Oh NO!  We dance, play instruments, play games, sing, compose music, etc.  I am from Nicholson, GA, which is close to Athens, Georgia.  YES, I am a Georgia Bulldog!  I began my college career at a 2-year school (at that time), Truett-McConnell College in Cleveland, GA.  Then I transferred to the University of Georgia where I played the clarinet in the Redcoat Marching Band.   I am a member of the Georgia Music Educators Association.  I am also the worship leader at Ocilla United Methodist Church.  I have been married for 17 years and have 2 children: Caroline & Riley.
