🔨 MobyMax

MobyMax is an online program designed to provide teachers with state standard-aligned content, assessments, and activities for all topics and subject areas. It is available on any internet-enabled device and offers a completely personalized learning experience for any student, based on their specific needs and skill gaps.

Moby Max can be used in the classroom or virtually. I use the Moby Max placement tests in Math, Language, and Foundation Reading throughout the year to identify a student's skill gaps. Once my students have taken their initial assessment, a completely personalized learning path is created for the students to progress through, based on their current skill gaps and needs.

🔨 EASY CBM

EasyCBM is an online system that provides reading and math Benchmark and Progress Monitoring assessments and reports for schools and individual teachers with fully-integrated tracking of instructional interventions.

This program is a tool designed to give teachers insight into which of their students may need additional instructional support as well as to provide a means by which they can measure the effectiveness of their teaching.

I use easy CBM to progress monitor my students and write IEP goals from these results.

EasyCBM provides current, week-by-week information on the student's progress. The student is tested briefly each week from 1 to 5 minutes and the results are recorded on a graph, then compared to the student's expected performance. This graph allows the teacher and student to review the results and make necessary adjustments. I also use this graph during IEP (Individualized Educational Program) meetings with teachers, parents, and administrators, to view specific information about the student's progress and go over specific information about the student's current performance so that I can develop measurable goals and objectives that will lead to more meaningful progress for the student.

🔨 Matt'smathlabs.com

Matt’s Math Lab is a website created by Matthew M. Winkling, a High School Mathematics teacher. He created and designed numerous technology labs to assist in teaching mathematics to students. These labs empower students to understand mathematics on a deeper level using technology.

This online website is free and accessible in person or virtually. Virtual students can access this site and participate via zoom meeting.

In our Advanced Math Decision Making (AMDM) class, students are given a unit packet containing information that will be taught and discussed for each lesson. Each day, students can log in and access the lesson from Matt’s Math Lab or view the information as the teacher explains it. Worksheets are provided for reinforcement for each lesson taught. If a student is having trouble understanding a specific part of the lesson, they can go back and review the entire lesson and ask for help with understanding.

Matt’s Math Lab is a great tool to reinforce material that students may have trouble understanding. Students have access to all lessons being taught with answers worked out and explained. If a student is absent, misses part of a class, or just doesn’t feel well that day, they can access the website and review the lesson taught.

🔨 Quizlet

  • Quizlet is a free online learning platform that uses activities and games to help students practice, study, and master information through interactive tools and games. It can be used in-person and remote learning making building and assessing quick and easy. Due to its flexibility and customization availability, Quizlet can be used in any grade level and any type of class. It also offers a lot of support for English language learners and students with learning differences. Select a word or definition, and it will be read aloud. There are seven standard study modes available to help students review. In our Geometry class, the mode we use to review for a quiz is called Match. This is a time-based game where the students compete against each other and must match questions with definitions.

Tool 5

🔨Desmos.com

Desmos is an advanced graphing and scientific calculator implemented as a web application and a mobile application. It enables students to use a graphing calculator, scientific calculator, or geometry tool to learn math or visually demonstrate math concepts. Desmos calculators can be used in or outside the classroom and students can access this tool anywhere that has an internet connection. Students may also download the Desmos App for their phones. Desmos calculators are both convenient and easily accessible to both face-to-face and virtual students. In our Advanced Mathematical Decision-making class, students were taught how to use the scientific/graphing calculators and encouraged to practice math skills as well as play with math to express their creativity. Desmos calculators are the official calculators that are allowed and provided to students on the Georgia Milestones End Of Course test
