As part of the district’s iDream 2024 literacy goals, we will be celebrating books and authors in April with a literacy campaign called “Authors Among Us”. Students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade (K-8) will be receiving high-interest books to take home. Each student will receive book(s) according to the designated grade level. In addition to the books, the students will be given a writer's notebook and a pen.

We have also secured virtual author visits for select titles where authors will discuss their writing process, their inspiration for writing and drawing, and talk about the books the students have received. The presentations will be recorded and available to view on-demand between April 12 - April 30. We are excited for this event and hope the books and authors will generate excitement for reading and writing!
