Safety & Security Updates 

As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, Irving High School has experienced a strong and successful start. Our students and staff have returned with enthusiasm, and we remain committed to providing a safe, secure, and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive. Through proactive safety measures, staff training, strong relationships, and clear expectations, we are working together to ensure every student feels welcomed, connected, and prepared for success. We appreciate the partnership of our students, families, and staff as we continue to make safety and student well-being a top priority.

Safety & Security Updates

• Campus doors open Monday–Friday at 8:00 a.m.

• Breakfast is served from 8:00–8:45 a.m.

• Students are expected to follow the established Bell Schedule.

• Dismissal begins at 4:15 p.m.

• Students are expected to adhere to Cell Phone/Yondr Pouch Expectations.

• Exterior doors remain secured throughout the school day.

• All visitors must check in through the front office and present a valid ID.

• Students are expected to wear and display their school ID daily.

• Emergency drills, including fire, lockdown, and shelter-in-place drills, are conducted throughout the year to ensure preparedness. Fire drills are conducted monthly beginning in August.

• Students are encouraged to report any safety concerns to a teacher, counselor, or administrator immediately.

• For everyone's safety, please do not open exterior doors for others. All visitors must enter through the main entrance.

Positive Actions Taken

• Routine safety inspections of exterior doors and campus facilities are conducted regularly.

• On August 4, 2026, Irving High School staff participated in training on emergency procedures, crisis response, and student safety protocols.

• Administrators, teachers, and staff actively foster positive relationships by greeting students during arrival, classroom transitions, and throughout the school day to create a welcoming and supportive environment.

• Campus administrators and staff maintain a visible presence throughout the day to promote a safe, secure, and orderly learning environment.

• Irving High School is issuing new student ID badges to all students by August 31, 2026. In addition to campus identification, these badges will be used as SmartTag bus passes for students who ride the bus.
