Students were able to raise over $1,200 through donations and raffle tickets sales. We had a closing rally to celebrate our top contributors. Each contributor was given the opportunity to throw a pie in the face or silly string the coaches. The raffle ticket purchasers got the chance to tape a Teacher to the wall. All of the money was given to the American Heart Association to help aid their research.

Fitness Routine at Home- make up a fitness routine with your family at home. Include at least 6 different exercises or more. Record your routine and post to youtube if possible. You can include exercises with or without equipment. Jump ropes, hula hoops, balls, wrights or exercises like push-ups, curl ups, trunk lift, squats, frog jumps, etc.
Players will be work on improving their hand-eye coordination while working independently.
An activity to work on hand-eye coordination and teamwork. Challenge yourself and use both your dominant and non-dominant hands.
To play this game: Diamonds are : Jumping Jacks, Hearts are: Planks (secs x 2), Clubs are: Push Ups, Spades are: Squats. Each number is the amount of times you do the exercise. Numbers (2, 3,4, etc...)Jacks = 12, Queens = 13, Kings= 14, Ace = 15. Divide the cards equally among players. Keep them face down on the floor/table. Place the top card of your deck onto the table. The person with the largest number does the exercise! You can do it other ways such as Spades could be "act like a monkey". Challenge your parents! Challenge your older or younger brother and sisters!
Have 3 different color items ( colored pieces of paper, stuffed animals, socks etc… anything that will be 3 different colors). One person is the “caller” who tells the other players which color to put their hand on. The first person to put their hand on the color gets a point. If there is a tie, redo the point. Challenge for grades 2 and up….say the hand (right or left) and then the color. To make the game more challenging hold the plank position while playing the game.
Start with #3 Jumping Jacks, #4 Frog Jumps, #5, Quick Feet ( count backwards from..?) # 6 Opposite leg/ Opposite arms(10), #7 Squats #8 Mountain Climbers ( count backwards from…..)# 9 Curl Ups -10, # 10 Plank Pose (how long can you hold it)
Pick a story to read (Pre Read the story) and pick a magical word. Pick an exercise. Pick the number of times to do the exercise. Every time that word is said you must do the exercise.
Get your whole family involved with this one! Pick one person to be the “caller”. The “caller” picks a floor (zoo floor, bird floor, dog floor etc…). The “caller” turns their back. They say the floor and you must freeze as that floor. The “caller” then tries to make you laugh. If you laugh the “caller" wins and then you switch “callers”.
Create an Obstacle Course.
Have the person place a ball, rolled up towel, a box or anything you have between your legs. Try to go as fast as you can through the obstacle course. The person with the best time wins!
Play a game of Hacky Sack. Use any of the following: Balloon (for younger students), a hacky sack ball or even a crumpled up piece of Paper! How long can you keep it going?
All you need is a trash can and a frisbee! One throws the frisbee and the other tries to hit it down into the can. This can be played with 2-4 players. Divide into teams and throw.
Let's play Baggo! All you need is some bean bags or rolled up socks and some rings or small trash cans. Step and toss. To score its 1 point for closest to the target and 3 points if you land in the target!
Put a ball or rolled up socks on the ground. Have someone say go and you race by pushing the ball or the socks with your nose. First one across a line wins! Challenge your family! Whoever wins picks the exercise that the others must do!
Play some football with your best friend!
Grab a piece of paper and crumple it up in a ball. Have your parent or guardian ask a math question or any question about your work that you are learning. If you get it right you take a shot! The person with the most points win!
Find a friend and play Frisbee outdoors....remember don't get to close to anyone!
